The aim with my art is to make you feel like you’re wearing something truly unique—fashionable and infused with artistic expression.

Guillermo Rios is an artist and educator who teaches Spanish Literature and Linguistics. Art and fashion have always been an essential part of his life, but it was during the COVID-19 pandemic that his artistic focus deepened.
During this time, Guillermo concentrated on painting on canvas, which allowed him to explore new ideas and techniques. However, it was about a year ago that he began experimenting with the concept of wearable art, where he started painting on denim and other fabrics to create pieces that bring art into everyday life.
About the artist
Duality is a deeply personal and central theme in Guillermo’s work. Living between two worlds—balancing Spanish and English, Mexico and the USA, American and Mexican cultures—has shaped his identity and, by extension, his art. This duality and dichotomy are central to his work, where he merges these opposing elements to represent identity.

It is his personal exploration of duality that truly guides his art. In his creations, for every circle, there is a box; for every open eye, a closed one.
These elements symbolize the tension between external forces that seek to categorize and confine, and the constant struggle to resist such constraints. The contrast between durable denim and subtle, sometimes fragile imagery represents the balance between strength and vulnerability, fashion and change.
